Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>President William Ruto has asked his Cabinet to Keep a bible verse to their desks as they work in the respective ministries.<\/p>\n

Speaking at State House on Thursday, Ruto said the verse will help the Cabinet to work as they are expected.<\/p>\n

He quoted James 4:17<\/p>\n

\u201cHe who knows what is right and does not do who is expected of him or her should know that it is a sin. I have told you what is right, if you do not do it you will not only miss heaven but have problem with me,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Ruto said he looks forward for the Cabinet to serve all Kenyans.<\/p>\n

“We should make sure that everyone responsible in their ministries has the knowledge that is required so that we deliver to the people of Kenya,” he said.<\/p>\n

Ruto said the team should reflect on the oaths that are taken.<\/p>\n

“I will conclude with a word from the bible and I want you to record it somewhere and put it on your desks,” he said.<\/p>\n

He said the Cabinet Secretaries should serve everyone in Kenya.<\/p>\n

“I know that there are regional persuasions but I\u2019ve not appointed any Cabinet Secretary for any county\/ community… I have appointed a Cabinet for Kenya to be served equally,” he said.<\/p>\n

“You have sworn to serve the people of Kenya. I expect all of you to uphold the constitution and the rule of law to be front and centre in the administration of our government.”<\/p>\n

The National Assembly had unanimously approved the list of cabinet nominees forwarded by Ruto.<\/p>\n

The MPs approved the nominees following a report by the Committee on appointments which approved 21 CSs, rejecting that of Peninah Malonza.<\/p>\n

The MPs however, voted against the rejection of Malonza paving way for amendment of the report through a motion to consider her nomination.<\/p>\n

The motion was moved by Kitui Woman Representative Irene Kasalu.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe upshot of that vote is that you have approved of all the nominees after Mercy Kiiru Njeru you have negative the rejection of Malonza that means Malonza is in purgatory,\u201d Wetang\u2019ula said.<\/p>\n
