Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has assured President William Ruto and Kenyans at large of his commitment to serve diligently.<\/p>\n

The newly sworn-in leader thanked Ruto for appointing him for the position, describing it as an honour he “accepted with great humility and sense of gratitude”.<\/p>\n

“I promise the President and the people of Kenya that I will serve them with utmost dedication to the best of my ability and within the confines of the Constitution of Kenya,” he tweeted on Thursday.<\/p>\n

He pointed out that he was aware the leaders faced difficult days ahead in the bid to transform the economic status of the country.<\/p>\n

Speaking after the swearing-in exercise at the State House, Ruto warned the cabinet of the workload awaiting them.<\/p>\n

“You have no option other than to succeed, failure is not an option, we have a country to look after, a plan to implement and the people of Kenya watching us,” he added.<\/p>\n

He urged the spouses of the leaders to bear with them, saying there will be late nights in the offices in the coming days.<\/p>\n

“Your celebrations will be very short-lived. I think you will be leaving your offices late. So the spouses kidogo mtatuvumilia. Hawa watu itabidi walale ofisini for the next couple of months until we have our plan in place,” he said.<\/p>\n

Mudavadi has assumed the third senior-most office in the government, after that of the President and Deputy President.<\/p>\n

He will be in charge of the ministries, in that he will oversee the projects implemented by the various offices.<\/p>\n
