Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza has dismissed claims of nepotism and conflict of interest in her administration as has been alleged by the EACC.<\/p>\n

While speaking to the media outside Milimani Law Courts on Friday, Kawira clarified that her husband is a volunteer as the youth patron and will not get any single shilling from the county.<\/p>\n

She has also confirmed that her two sisters work for her but one of them, a bodyguard, is a police officer employed by the National Police Service and as such, she is not paid by the county government.<\/p>\n

The second sister who is her Personal Assistant has been working with her for five years now.<\/p>\n

“So it\u2019s not unusual,” Kawira said.<\/p>\n

The governor further added that she has the freedom to choose her support staff from people she trusts.<\/p>\n

She has also dismissed the impeachment petition filed against her as hot air.<\/p>\n

Kawira said she is ready to defend herself against the allegations raised by the petitioner Selasio Thuranira and the MCAs.<\/p>\n
