Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Out with the old in with the new, so the old adage goes.<\/p>\n

On Friday, the new Cabinet secretaries were busy moving into their various work stations as their predecessors officially handed over the offices to the new team.<\/p>\n

Keriako Tobiko handed over the Environment and Forestry docket to incoming CS Soipan Tuya.<\/p>\n

Tuya said she is committed to working collaboratively with all departments under her docket to ensure maximum service delivery.<\/p>\n

“I take it upon myself as a matter of priority to coordinate with the council of governors and inter-ministerial relations with colleagues from the different ministries to make sure we achieve that which is within our strategic plan,” she added.<\/p>\n

Joe Mucheru handed over the Ministry of Information, Communications, and the Digital Economy docket to Eliud Owalo.<\/p>\n

Amina Mohamed paved way for Sports, Youth Affairs Arts officer bearer Ababu Namwamba.<\/p>\n

The former CAS said he as stepping into the shoes of a Kenyan giant and heroine.<\/p>\n

“Without any fear of contradiction, if President Ruto had asked me to choose which pair of shoes to step into, I wouldn\u2019t have chosen a better pair of shoes than those of CS Amina Mohamed,” Namwamba said.<\/p>\n

Water and Sanitation CS Alice Wahome also took the new challenge in stride and reported to her work station early Friday.<\/p>\n

“We are facing a big challenge of drought and water shortage and I\u2019m happy President Ruto is aware.<\/p>\n

I will draw support from the President, he has committed to work with the Ministry to ensure availability of funds to deliver to Kenyans,” she said.<\/p>\n

Her counterpart in the Lands, Housing and Urban Development docket Farida Karoney also handed over the realms of power to her successor Zachariah Njeru.<\/p>\n

Njeru noted that there’s a big task ahead of him and he could see that he might be having long days and short nights because there\u2019s a lot to accomplish.<\/p>\n

Margaret Kobia also handed over her successor Aisha Jumwa in the Public Service and Gender docket and so did James Macharia of the Transport minsitry.<\/p>\n

Former Elgoyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen is the new occupant of the office in charge of roads and other transport infrastructure.<\/p>\n
