Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Kenya will soon establish a Moderna Vaccines Manufacturing Hub in Nairobi with the help of the US government.<\/p>\n

This emerged following discussions between Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and US Ambassador to Kenya, Meg Whitman.<\/p>\n

The two held discussions on Thursday on various issues touching on bilateral cooperation between Kenya and the United States.<\/p>\n

“Kenya and the United States have for many decades shared strong bilateral and multilateral relations,” Gachagua said.<\/p>\n

In early March, Kenya signed a memorandum of understanding with Moderna to establish its first mRNA manufacturing facility in Africa.<\/p>\n

The American biotechnology firm said the facility would cost $500 million (Sh57.5 billion) to produce messenger RNA (mRNA) vaccines.<\/p>\n

The DP also stated that the cooperation and relations between the two states can only grow stronger and deeper for the benefit of future generations of both countries.<\/p>\n

The conclusion of the process to allow Millennium Challenge Corporation to release $60 million (Sh7.28 billion) grant towards the improvement of Transport System in Nairobi also formed part of the discussions.<\/p>\n
