Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>President William Ruto on Sunday condoled with South Korean victims of the Halloween tragic Crush.<\/p>\n

The Saturday night stampede at the South Korean capital, Seoul claimed the lives of at least 151 people, according to reports by officials.<\/p>\n

At least 82 were injured in the incident in the Itaewon nightlife area which was holding its first unmasked Halloween celebrations since Covid.<\/p>\n

In a statement, Ruto said Kenya will put the families of the victims in prayers.<\/p>\n

“Kenya mourns with the people of South Korea following the tragic crush that claimed many lives. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of those affected,” Ruto said.<\/p>\n

After holding an emergency meeting, South Korea’s President, Yoon Suk-yeol, ordered a task force to be set up to help treat the injured.<\/p>\n

He also launched an investigation into the cause of the crash.<\/p>\n

An estimated 100,000 people came to celebrate there on Saturday to mark the first Halloween since the Pandemic.<\/p>\n
