Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>A man who defiled his 11-year-old niece has been charged at a Kibera court. PQ was charged before Kibera chief magistrate Ann Mwangi. He however denied committing an indecent act with the child.<\/p>\n

The charge sheet read in court says that the accused person committed the offence on October 26, in Muslim area, Kawangware. The girl had just arrived home from school when she was allegedly picked up by her uncle who was standing at the gate of their residential house.<\/p>\n

He then ordered her to remove her clothes and defiled her. The court heard that the accused person left after hearing a knock at his door. The girl never informed anyone.<\/p>\n

When she went to school the next day, her class teacher noted that she was having difficulty in walking and looked uncomfortable. He attempted to question her but the girl did not explain what happened until a female teacher was involved.<\/p>\n

The girl explained what occurred and her parents were called to the school. She was taken to a Kibera health facility and later to Nairobi Women’s Hospital where she was treated and discharged.<\/p>\n

A report was made to the police and the accused person was arrested. In court, the man said he respected his niece and would not defile her. He told the court that there were some relatives he had differed with and urged the court to ignore the charges against him. He was released on Sh300,000 bond with a surety of the same amount. The matter will be mentioned on November 14 for a pre-trial.<\/p>\n
