Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>President William Ruto will be relying on a team of at least seven leaders who will play key roles in driving his education manifesto.<\/p>\n

The education sector drivers are either committee chairpersons or to ministry officials.<\/p>\n

In the National Assembly, Education Committee chairperson and Tinderet MP Julius Melly will spearhead the education agenda.<\/p>\n

Melly will be deputised by Malava MP Malulu Injendi.<\/p>\n

Muranga county senator Joseph Nyutu will head the education committee in the senate.<\/p>\n

He will be deputised by Nominated Senator Veronica Nduati.<\/p>\n

In 2020, former Busia County MP Florence Mutua replaced Melly after then president Uhuru Kenyatta purged politicians who were critical of his leadership.<\/p>\n

At the council of governors, Kericho governor Erick Mutai is in charge if the education committee.<\/p>\n

Governors are responsible for Early Childhood Development Learning.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday, Ruto firmed up his team after he made more nominations to the helm of the education ministry.<\/p>\n

This comes days after Ezekiel Machogu took over at Jogoo House as Cabinet Secretary.<\/p>\n

Ruto picked three Principal Secretaries to the giant ministry of education.<\/p>\n

Beatrice Inyangala, who was Kakamega gubernatorial candidate Cleophas Malala\u2019s running mate, will head the higher education department.<\/p>\n

Embu County Secretary and Head of Public Service Esther Thaara will be in charge of the TVET department.<\/p>\n

Another Ruto ally who has made his way back to Jogoo House is Belio Kipsang.<\/p>\n

Kipsang will be the early learning and basic education PS.<\/p>\n

In February 2021, Kipsang was moved from the Ministry of Education to the Ministry of East African Community and Regional Development.<\/p>\n

Until today, he was serving as the PS in charge of Regional and Northern Corridor Development.<\/p>\n
