Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Azimio leaders in Parliament have castigated President William Ruto’s administration over unwarranted roadside declarations by government officials.<\/p>\n

The MPs said the country has no leadership or direction at the height of crucial issues which needs the government\u2019s intervention.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe net total of the development we are witnessing is that the country is experiencing a serious leadership deficit,\u201d the MPs said.<\/p>\n

\u201cNobody is giving appropriate direction on extremely critical issues like binding international contracts, aviation industry, and education.\u201d<\/p>\n

Minority leader Opiyo Wandayi was accompanied by MPs Junet Mohamed (Suna East), Lilian Gogo (Rangwe), Godfrey Osotsi (Vihiga Senator), Robert Mbui (Kathiani), and Irene Mayaka (Nominated).<\/p>\n

The lawmakers called on Ruto to call his troops to order and stop the roadside declarations, citing remarks by Education CS Ezekiel Machogu on the effect of university funding.<\/p>\n

Machogu, however, denied the assertions of the effect of funding cuts saying his statement was quoted out of context.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are calling out President Ruto and his administration. It is time to govern. It is time to lead. But we fear they never will,\u201d the statement by Wandayi read.<\/p>\n

The leaders said that with the apparent no solution to issues affecting Kenyans, Ruto\u2019s team is turning out as uninspiring.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe seem to be staring at a government that is a government in name only. Too early into this administration, we are staring at a leader and his team who have little to offer,\u201d the MPs said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are certainly staring at the consequences of having a regime that lacks mandate and agenda. So far the UDA government is simply occupying space, not governing.\u201d<\/p>\n

They also took issue with Roads and Transport CS Kipchumba Murkomen for misleading Kenyans on the release of SGR contracts.<\/p>\n
