Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>A Narok court has granted police 27 days to detain a 72-year-old man who allegedly hacked his wife to death in unclear circumstances at their home last week.<\/p>\n

It is alleged that Zachariah Silatei Ngetich killed Judy Silantei, 45, at Kimogoro within Narok South and then set their house on fire.<\/p>\n

He later took poison but did not die.<\/p>\n

He was rescued by good Samaritans while unconscious.<\/p>\n

An application was made in court seeking to transfer Ngetich from a private hospital in Bomet to the Narok County Hospital.<\/p>\n

The court allowed the application by the police to transfer the suspect and upon discharge be remanded at Ololunga police station.<\/p>\n

Ngetich will remain at the station for 27 days to enable police complete investigations.<\/p>\n

According to police, he is likely to be charged with three offences which include murder, arson and attempted suicide.<\/p>\n

Ngetich has since been discharged from hospital and is being held at the police station as investigations conclude.<\/p>\n
