Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Oil marketers are diversifying into non-core products to spread risks and grow revenue as the fuel market remains uncertain.<\/p>\n

For instance, Vivo Energy Kenya, the company that distributes and markets Shell products and services in the country, has signed a partnership with CMC Motors to offer aftersales care for motorcycles.<\/p>\n

CMC Motors is the franchise holder of Hero Motorbikes in the country.<\/p>\n

According to the parties, the aftersale care will be actualised by providing the motorcycles with quality and genuine oil that reduces maintenance costs, gives better service, and provides value for their money.<\/p>\n

Speaking during the contract signing ceremony, CMC Group CEO Alan Crossan, said aftersales remain a core part of their mission and business.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are excited to partner with Vivo Energy Kenya to enable Hero motorbike customers access the highest quality oil and parts at more convenient locations across Kenya,\u201d Crossan said.<\/p>\n

This is with the conviction that Shell products are trusted and manufactured with the highest standards.<\/p>\n

On his part, Vivo Energy Kenya managing director Peter Murungi, noted that motorbikes are an essential part of our economy and Vivo understands the importance of a motorbike rider being always on the move to make a livelihood.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe therefore, are equally excited upon this partnership and we have invested to avail in the market the lubricant, Shell Advance, which when motorbike riders use, they are assured of making a saving due to reduced downtime for repairs and in turn save money,\u201d Murungi said.<\/p>\n

Upon this partnership, every Hero motorbike will be sold with a co-branded \u2018Shell Advance & Hero\u2019 warranty sticker.<\/p>\n

The two organisations will also be partaking in various exclusive joint marketing activities.<\/p>\n

This includes the co-branding of 500 spare parts shops that CMC Motors plans to recruit in 2023 and joint mechanics training and service clinics.<\/p>\n

In June, Total Kenya partnered with Autofast to provide premium automotive parts, batteries and tyres; premium lubricants through TOTAL\u2019s Quartz range.<\/p>\n

This is equipment that ensures comprehensive and accurate car diagnosis; and highly-trained technicians with strong expertise.<\/p>\n
