Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Kenya and Japan are weighing the possibility of introducing direct flights between the two countries.<\/p>\n

Japanese Ambassador Ken Okaniwa said having direct flights from Nairobi to Tokyo is highly possible.<\/p>\n

Speaking when he paid a courtesy call to National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang\u2019ula, Okaniwa said direct flights would boost trade between the two countries<\/p>\n

Wetang\u2019ula acknowledged the huge contribution made by the Japanese government in the technology and infrastructure sectors.<\/p>\n

\u201cJapan is an advanced market economy and there is a lot we can benchmark,\u201d he said<\/p>\n

He appreciated the role played by the Tokyo International Conference on Africa Development in creating a forum for the exchange of ideas and learning for countries across the world.<\/p>\n

Okaniwa said he was delighted to meet and engage the speaker on various matters including manufacturing, climate change and waste management<\/p>\n

He said Kenya is a great business partner saying Japan is open to exchange programmes with MPs from the two Houses.<\/p>\n

Japan has a bicameral Legislative System known as the National Diet.<\/p>\n

The Diet consists of an Upper House-the House of Councilors and a Lower House-the House of Representatives. It is the sole law-making organ of the State.<\/p>\n
