Public Service and Gender Cabinet Secretary Aisha Jumwa left the audience in stitches after he addressed Ruto as Deputy President.<\/p>\n

“Mimi nataka nichukue nafasi hii kwanza kabisa nimshukuru Naibu wa…,” she stopped as laughter followed.<\/p>\n

A snippet of Ruto’s reaction after Jumwa’s remarks showed the President also bursting out into laughter.<\/p>\n

Jumwa was quick to apologise saying her slip of the tongue was because she was used to calling Ruto, the Deputy President for a long time.<\/p>\n

“Samahani, kunradhi, tumeishi naye kama naibu wa rais sana,” she said.<\/p>\n

She thanked Ruto for giving her an opportunity to serve in the Cabinet.<\/p>\n

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank the president for electing me to be a minister in the Cabinet,” she said.<\/p>\n

“It is a great honour that he has given Coastal citizens an opportunity, even though I am not a coastal CS, I am the minister of Kenya, when I took the oath of office I swore to be the CS for the whole country.”<\/p>\n

Ruto was the DP from 2013-2022 and became the fifth president on August 9, general elections.<\/p>\n

This might be a reason for Jumwa’s slip of the tongue, maybe she has not gotten used to addressing Ruto, President.<\/p>\n
