Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Professional golfers Jastas Madoya and Joseph Karanja will be the highlight of this weekend\u2019s Safari Tour Golf Serie at the Vipingo Ridge.<\/p>\n

The two are among the strong field that will be chasing slots to play at the 2023 Magical Kenya Open. The four-day meeting will tee off on Sunday and will run until Wednesday in Kilifi.<\/p>\n

Speaking in Kitale over the weekend, promised to continue with their good run not only in Vipingo but across the circuit.<\/p>\n

Great Rift Valley’s Madoya, who has not won any title this season, said he wants to use Vipingo as the launching pad.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to try my best in Vipingo to come home with good results. I know it will be challenging but all I want is good results,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n

The reigning Uganda Open Safari Tour champion said he is keen to represent the country at the Magical Open.<\/p>\n

\u201cMagical Kenya is here to stay and good professionals will always want to play at the prestigious tournament. Making the cut for the event is no mean task though,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Karanja also committed to competing for the top position in Vipingo in search of the Magical Kenya Open slot.<\/p>\n

Karanja, who was playing alongside Madoya and Boniface Simwa, said his focus will be on how to earn good points toward next year’s tourney.<\/p>\n

\u201cI will be heading to Vipingo with the sole purpose of earning good points,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Before heading to Vipingo, he said he will compete at the Muthaiga Chairman\u2019s Cup.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want to sharpen our skills at the Muthaiga tournament on our way to Vipingo. Muthaiga will provide a good build-up and practice rounds ahead of the Kilifi show,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
