The board chairman Lewis Nguyai has hinted that the authority will soon be compelled to conduct a crackdown on what he has termed as historical political baggage.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;NHIF historically has been full of political baggage and this has created a culture of people getting entitled to their positions and bringing in people without technical skills,&#8221; Nguyai told the parliamentary committee.<\/p>\n<p>The committee visited the authority&#8217;s headquarters on a fact finding mission on Thursday. The legislators also held discussions with key management of the fund on a range of issues affecting its operations.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We will need the protection of Parliament so that when we make those decisions.
