Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>ODM leader Raila Odinga has yet again hit out at the Kenya Kwanza government led by president William Ruto, saying it is obsessed with campaigning.<\/p>\n

In a statement on Friday, Raila said the administration was not prepared for leadership.<\/p>\n

He said the regime has not been keen on solving problems facing the country.<\/p>\n

“This regime wasn’t ready to lead. It has no idea of how to solve Kenya’s problems and seems obsessed with campaigning,” he said.<\/p>\n

Raila and Ruto have recently been involved in a political war of words, especially after hearing of the petitions to remove four IEBC commissioners began.<\/p>\n

The four include vice chairperson Juliana Cherera and commissioners Francis Mathenge, Irene Masit and Justus Nyang\u2019aya.<\/p>\n

The spat began on Thursday after Raila accused the Kenya Kwanza administration of having chosen a path of impunity, witch hunt and revenge.<\/p>\n

\u201cTheir target has been the institutions and individuals the regime thinks did not dance enough to its tunes during campaigns,\u201d he said on Thursday.<\/p>\n

A day after Raila issued the scathing statement, Ruto fired back saying:<\/p>\n

\u201cLords of impunity, who destroyed oversight institutions using the handshake fraud, should allow Parliament to hold rogue officials who put the nation in danger by subverting the democratic will of the people to account.\u201d<\/p>\n

The President added that the \u201cnew order is rule of law and not wishes of big men.\u201d<\/p>\n

In Friday’s statement, Raila reiterated that the opposition will continue doing its job.<\/p>\n

“The method of deceit and false promises is out of control and will not be allowed to harm our lives. We’ll continue pushing the causes of the people of Kenya,” he said.<\/p>\n

He added:<\/p>\n

“There is due process and natural justice, things aren’t just done at the whims of the executive.”<\/p>\n

Raila said the rule of law must prevail.<\/p>\n

“We shall not relent.”<\/p>\n
