Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>It’s all systems go for more than 3 million students preparing to sit the national exams.<\/p>\n

Grade 6 has more than 1.6 million registered candidates for Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) exam.<\/p>\n

On Friday, learners will be taken through rehearsal as teachers check compliance with exam regulations.<\/p>\n

As it stands, primary schools will have two exam sections, for Standard 8 and Grade 6 pupils.<\/p>\n

On Monday, Standard 8 candidates will sit Mathematics, English language and Composition papers. On Tuesday they will have Science, Kiswahili and Insha.<\/p>\n

And on the final day, they will have Social Studies and Religious Education papers.<\/p>\n

Grade 6 pupils will start with Mathematics as the first paper and English on Monday.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, the learners will be assessed in Integrated Science and Kiswahili.<\/p>\n

The maiden assessment will end on Wednesday with Creative Arts and Social Studies.<\/p>\n

For Grade 6, the subjects have been clustered into five Integrated Science containing Science and Technology, Agriculture, Home Science, and Physical Health.<\/p>\n

Creative Arts and Social Studies include Social studies, Christian, Islamic and Hindu education, arts and crafts, and music.<\/p>\n

Summative assessments contribute 60 per cent while the two school-based assessments contribute 20 per cent each.<\/p>\n

Unlike in the KCPE exams where candidates are rated out of 100 per cent, KPSEA will account for only 40 per cent of the final score.<\/p>\n

The other 60 per cent will come from the classroom-based continuous assessment tests conducted in Grades 4, 5 and 6.<\/p>\n
