Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Shujaa head coach Damian McGrath has made two changes to the squad heading for the Dubai sevens next week<\/p>\n

Mwamba’s Ronnie Omondi and KCB’s Bob Muhati have been called up to the Shujaa squad to replace Vincent Onyala (injury) and Bush Mwale (work commitments).<\/p>\n

The duo was outstanding during the National Sevens circuit between May and July and the tactician said deserved selection to the national team.<\/p>\n

“We\u2019ve introduced two more new caps who were two of the most outstanding players on the recent National Sevens Circuit. Muhati is coming in the forwards and Omondi comes in at half-back,” he noted. =<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cWe\u2019ve got faith in both these two players. They\u2019ve trained very hard and very well and they will join George Ooro and Dennis Abukuse from the last leg as new starters.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Englishman added that Vincent Onyala’s injury will be a big blow for his charges.<\/p>\n

“Unfortunately, we\u2019ve lost Vincent Onyala to a season-ending injury, which is a real blow for the team. Vincent is one of the world\u2019s best Sevens players in my opinion and he\u2019ll be a difficult man to replace.\u201d<\/p>\n

He said the side has been dogged by off-field issues such as going without play for the last three months but saluted the boys.<\/p>\n

\u201cCredit to the boys! They show up for training every day and want to do the country proud in the forthcoming tournaments. We thank Peponi School for availing us the opportunity to train at their facility for the past fortnight,” he added.<\/p>\n

Shujaa face a stern test in Dubai, where they will be up against Hong Kong winners Australia, South Africa, and Great Britain in a tough Pool A.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere, Judith Akumu will skipper the Kenya Lionesses squad to the Dubai invitational Sevens tournament slated for the same weekend. Dennis Mwanja’s charges face Tunisia, South Africa and France’s Development side. Mwanja will be without Stella Wafula who sustained an injury during the Rugby Africa tournament last month in Uganda.<\/p>\n
