Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Governor Ken Lusaka has appointed Chrispinus Barasa as the County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for finance and Economic planning.<\/p>\n

Speaking at County headquarters on Friday after Barasa took the oath of office, Lusaka applauded Bungoma county assembly members for vetting and passing all his CEC members.<\/p>\n

Lusaka added that he met the threshold in his cabinet where he considered the regional balance, youth\u2019s representation and people living disability (PLWD).<\/p>\n

\u201cI really thank and appreciate my MCA\u2019s for accepting and passing all the names that I had forwarded for the vetting, it is a good gesture and it also gives a psych to work and deliver what I promised to the locals,\u201d Lusaka said.<\/p>\n

The newly sworn in CECM for finance and economic planning hails from Kimilili Constituency.<\/p>\n

Lusaka said that the finance docket is very crucial in every organization especially in the devolved units arguing that is why he took time to scrutinize, vet and clear Barasa before he was gazetted to be sworn in on Friday.<\/p>\n

Also present was the Western region EACC director.<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople have been wondering why I have taken time to name and swear in CEC for finance, I took my time to clear Mr. Barasa before his name was presented before the floor of the Bungoma County assembly,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Lusaka lauded residents for always attending county functions arguing that it also gives them time to know what his administration is doing.<\/p>\n

Lusaka noted that he has no bad blood with former governor Wangamati\u2019s staff asking them to serve the government of the day.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you can check from other counties when the new governors took office they cleared all the old CECs,\u201d Lusaka added.<\/p>\n

Lusaka asked Barasa to serve Bungoma residents constitutionally and according to the law.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have appointed you to this vital docket to ensure that locals benefits from devolution, finance is very critical for every organization. Make sure that you deliver,\u201d Lusaka said.<\/p>\n

The County boss affirmed to his cabinet that he will give all the CECM all the support they want.<\/p>\n

At the same time, Lusaka signed a Climate change bill that is expected to be presented before the floor of the County Assembly of Bungoma.<\/p>\n

He added that if the bill is passed it will see every ward bag Sh. 50M to address the climate change challenges.<\/p>\n

Lusaka also noted that the task force that he assigned to carry out audits is ready and he will be availing them anytime.<\/p>\n
