Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>A team of six women players will represent the country at the dota2 category as the only Africans in the World E-Sports Games scheduled for December 14-17 in Istanbul, Turkey.<\/p>\n

The players include Yvonne Nkatha, Elinah Kemunto, Shirley Adema, Barbra Maush, Magdalene Mumbi and Maria Kiuru will feature in the category.<\/p>\n

The sextet will be up against hosts Turkey, Malaysia, New Zealand, Thailand, Singapore, Turkey, Great Britain, and Argentina.<\/p>\n

Other disciplines include the e-Football PES, where Evander Maina will be Kenya’s sole representative and the Street Fighter V on Play Station 5 where Marion Muthoni will be looking to fly Kenya’s flag high.<\/p>\n

In an interview with one of the local television stations, the national team manager Ronny Lusigi exuded confidence that the team will perform well. \u201cPractically, they look good. The team is motivated,\u201d Lusigi said.<\/p>\n

However, he lamented the financial struggles that have denied them a chance to train with effective machines. He revealed that a lack of resources tends to pull down the team\u2019s motivation when it comes to training effectively.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe really need support from sponsors resource-wise. Currently, we are not training with the high-end machines that we would like to have. We also need to motivate our players,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He added that having the right training equipment will aid their preparation for the games.<\/p>\n
