{"id":75816,"date":"2022-11-28T15:17:18","date_gmt":"2022-11-28T15:17:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/kenya\/all-news\/africa-diaspora-news-picks-kenya-as-the-continents-launch-pad"},"modified":"2022-11-28T15:17:18","modified_gmt":"2022-11-28T15:17:18","slug":"africa-diaspora-news-picks-kenya-as-the-continents-launch-pad","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/kenya\/all-news\/africa-diaspora-news-picks-kenya-as-the-continents-launch-pad","title":{"rendered":"Africa diaspora news picks Kenya as the continent\u2019s launch pad"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>The international YouTube-based news network, African Diaspora News Channel (ADNC) has selected Kenya for the launch of its subsidiary to source the collection of localised content across Africa.<\/p>\n<p>Pointing towards its expansion bid, the network seeks to scale up its mission in telling the African stories to the outside world for the purposes of informing, inspiring and entertaining its audiences.<\/p>\n<p>This is through discussion of current events, thought-provoking topics and controversial issues, for instance, the ongoing debate around Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) maize in the country.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to the Star during an interview, ADNC Founder and Host Phil Scott said that the setting base will create job opportunities for content creators in the country and also upskill their story telling ability on African matters.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe look forward to bringing more vibrant and aspiring members to our team who will gear up our news sourcing, to tell more of the African stories and opinions to the world,\u201d Scott said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is important in voicing African issues, affairs and concerns which could in turn drive up response actions from governments and relevant bodies for the betterment of these countries as we mainly focus on promoting good will with impactful human-centered reporting.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On picking Kenya as the continent\u2019s subsidiary, Scott commented Kenya of being dynamic and ideal-positioned making it effective for its continental up-scaling.<\/p>\n<p>He also lauded the country\u2019s robust infrastructure upon consideration for its branch launch.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe decided to root this news channel for Kenya as penetration into the African Continent via Nairobi because English is widely spoken in the country at about 80 per cent which is a positive ride-on as most of the ADNC audience are Black Americans that speak English,\u201d Scott added.<\/p>\n<p>Going into the future, the channel seeks to further the existing bilateral relationships between African countries in opinion and idea sharing for development and in turn fostering Africa\u2019s role in impacting global movements and developments.<\/p>\n<p>The channel started in 2013 and currently has about 3.6 million audience subscribers.<\/p>\n<p>It has garnered over 500 million views to date earning the channel the YouTube\u2019s Gold Play Button award.<\/p>\n<p>The channel has one of its employees whose based in Kenya and alone produces 28 news reports a month in the country.<\/p>\n<p>It also has a Kenyan editor that helps with the platform as it seeks to add more with the branch launch.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/kenya\">Kenya<\/a> Follow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Kenya.
