Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Former President Uhuru Kenyatta will today give his address on the ongoing EAC-led Nairobi process on the Inter-Congolese peace process.<\/p>\n

Uhuru is the East Africa Community peace facilitator in the talks aimed to restore peace in the Eastern DR Congo.<\/p>\n

\u201cFollowing the arrival of all the participants of the EAC-led Nairobi Process, the Third Inter-Congolese Dialogue, the facilitator will address the plenary at 10 am,\u201d read a statement to newsrooms.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe facilitator will thereafter hold an open session with the media and take questions.\u201d<\/p>\n

Present in the meeting are the Forces commander, DRC\u2019s UN organization stabilization mission (MONUSCO), special envoys and advisors Prof Serge (DRC President), Huang Xia (secretary general of UN for the Great Lakes Region) and Macharia Kamau (Uhuru\u2019s special envoy).<\/p>\n

The meeting happening in Nairobi is dubbed Third inter-Congolese consultations of the Nairobi Peace Process.<\/p>\n

Burundian President Evariste Ndayishimiye, who is also the chairperson of the EAC summit officiated the opening session held at Safari Park on November 28.<\/p>\n

President William Ruto also graced the event which saw EAC Presidents address the session through a videoconference.<\/p>\n

Nairobi III comes after the official visit of Uhuru to Kinshasa and Goma, DRC, for the Mini-Summit on Peace and Security in the Eastern DRC.<\/p>\n

It is a follow-up to the inaugural peace Nairobi meeting held in April and the second one held at Ituri, North Kivu and South Kivu in DRC.<\/p>\n

This culminated in the 22nd ordinary session of the EAC where Uhuru was picked to lead the process.<\/p>\n
