Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Over 260 junior golfers have confirmed participation in the NCBA-sponsored U. S. Kids Golf\u2014 Nairobi Local Tour that will feature two rounds.<\/p>\n

The two rounds\u2014the third and fourth\u2014will be hosted at the Par-72 Karen Country Club and Muthaiga on Saturday and Sunday respectively.<\/p>\n

The two events will build up on the success of the opening two rounds held at the Thika Golf Club and most recently Windsor Golf Hotel and Country Club \u2014with young golfers capitalising on the chance to showcase their golfing skills.<\/p>\n

So far, 271 junior golfers, aged between six and 18 years, have taken part in the tour that is organised by the Junior Golf Foundation.<\/p>\n

The tour, which features both boys and girls is categorised according to age. The tour is an eight-leg event whose aim is to provide a platform for junior golfers to hone their skills in appropriate age competition.<\/p>\n

Speaking ahead of this weekend\u2019s events, NCBA Group managing director John Gachora said: \u201cWe are delighted to be sponsoring the U. S. Kids Golf \u2014Nairobi Local tour doubleheader this weekend in what promises to be a competitive outing for juniors.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are proud of the work the Junior Golf Foundation in conjunction with the US Kids Golf is doing to raise the status of junior golf in this country.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe look forward to a fantastic tournament over the two days and wish all the juniors the very best as they take to the course.\u201d<\/p>\n

On his part, JGF tournament director James Ondigo said: \u201cWe are pleased to have the tour at Karen and in Muthaiga\u2014venues that have produced a lot of memories for many great golfers both locally and internationally. We look forward to a great event as we seek to build on the success of the previous two tournaments.\u201d<\/p>\n

The weekend event will be the last of the 2022 calendar year before the tour resumes in January at the Vet Lab Sports Club.<\/p>\n
