{"id":76725,"date":"2022-12-08T16:12:50","date_gmt":"2022-12-08T16:12:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/kenya\/all-news\/2022-ncba-golf-series-winners-converge-for-grand-finale"},"modified":"2022-12-08T16:12:50","modified_gmt":"2022-12-08T16:12:50","slug":"2022-ncba-golf-series-winners-converge-for-grand-finale","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/kenya\/all-news\/2022-ncba-golf-series-winners-converge-for-grand-finale","title":{"rendered":"2022 NCBA Golf Series winners converge for Grand Finale"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Winners from the preliminary rounds of the 2022 NCBA Golf Series will take to the course in the tournament\u2019s Grand Finale on Friday at the Muthaiga Golf Club.<\/p>\n<p>Preparations for the ultimate showdown at the par-71 championship course are in top gear with final touches being put into place ahead of the tournament which tees off at 7 am.<\/p>\n<p>The event will be the 16th on the 2022 NCBA Golf Series Calendar and a strong field of 70 players is expected to feature.<\/p>\n<p>The golfers qualified to play through the 14 seniors\u2019 events in the series and are expected to battle it out for the overall series title.<\/p>\n<p>The playing field comprises five top finishers in Division One, Division Two, Division Three, Junior and Ladies\u2019 categories winners from each of the 14 amateur events.<\/p>\n<p>The golfers will compete for the series\u2019 ultimate prize, which is a fully-paid trip to the Fancourt Golf Course in South Africa.<\/p>\n<p>NCBA Group has planned an elegant gala event at the end of the competition to award and celebrate the winners.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking ahead of the Grand Finale, NCBA Group Managing Director John Gachora said he expects the Grand Finale to live up to the expectations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are really excited about our Grand Finale this Friday which will mark a culmination of what has been a very exciting golf series. Going by the success of last year\u2019s series, we expected this year\u2019s edition to be even better and we are glad that it has lived up to that expectation.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The competition from the qualifying rounds has been stiff with golfers taking up the opportunity to showcase their golfing prowess and there has been a general improvement from last year\u2019s performances,\u201d said Gachora.<\/p>\n<p>He added; \u201cThis year, we sought to take the tempo a bit higher and we did that by including a trip to the famed Fancourt Golf Course in South Africa as the ultimate prize for the winner.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This means that the stakes are high for the Finale, and we, therefore, expect the level of competition to be high. We look forward to an exciting and entertaining competition as we crown the ultimate winner.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Series, which teed off in February this year at the Railways Golf Club, has seen the participation of over 2,400 golfers drawn from 16 golf clubs.<\/p>\n<p>Apart from the amateur tournaments, the 2022 NCBA Golf Series has also featured two junior tournaments with the first event having been held in Serena, Uganda, and the Karen Country Club.
