Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Police on Monday arrested one person suspected of transporting a consignment of 250 litres of ethanol estimated to cost six million.<\/p>\n

Police from Kapenguria intercepted the suspect along Kacheliba- Makutano road.<\/p>\n

In a statement on Tuesday, National Police Service said that they suspect the ethanol was smuggled into the country.<\/p>\n

“The successful seizure and subsequent arrest of one male adult are attributed to the collaboration between NPS and Kenya Revenue Authority,” the statement read.<\/p>\n

Police said the interception was due to the ongoing countrywide crackdown on contraband goods and unscrupulous tax evasion schemes.<\/p>\n
