Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza has reacted after Members of the County Assembly unanimously impeached her.<\/p>\n

Taking to Facebook, the governor, in words that seemed like a prayer said whoever was behind her tribulations had spent millions of shillings to see her out.<\/p>\n

She claimed that the person who wants to see her out had sponsored news headlines and invested a lot of energy to see her out.<\/p>\n

The embattled governor said the impeachment is just another spiritual mission, displaying confidence that her administration is still intact.<\/p>\n

She also hinted at governing the county for two terms.<\/p>\n

“They have used Millions of money. Sleepless nights. A lot of energy. Sponsored headlines. Engaging public seriously. Connections with different types of people. Just to confirm what God wants them to do. A spiritual Mission. (BRAND BUILDING) #AttackFollowsanointing #merumustbehappy #serikaliyamamaikoimara 10 bila brakes. Amen,” Mwangaza wrote on Facebook.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday, 67 out of 69 Meru MCA voted in favour of an impeachment motion tabled by DMK Kiogora, Member for Abogeta West and Minority Party Whip.<\/p>\n

Mwangaza is the first Governor to be impeached since the August 9 general elections.<\/p>\n

“Honourable members, I wish to declare that the Governor of Meru Hon. Bishop Kawira Mwangaza stands impeached by the Meru County Assembly,” Speaker Ayub Bundi Solomon said.<\/p>\n

Speaker Ayub is expected to communicate with the Speaker of the Senate about the approval of the Impeachment motion by Friday.<\/p>\n

Within seven days, Speaker Amason Kingi will be required to convene the house for a sitting to hear Mwangaza’s impeachment charges.<\/p>\n

On November 30, the Meru court halted the first impeachment attempt by the MCAs.<\/p>\n

Justice Wamae Cherere said the motion did not follow the correct procedure in initiating an ouster bid against the governor.<\/p>\n

Governor Mwangaza has been at loggerheads with Members of the County Assembly since she took over power.<\/p>\n

The county legislators accused the first-time governor of gross misconduct and abuse of office.<\/p>\n

Other allegations include; nepotism, illegal appointments, unlawful dismissals, incitement, bullying, vilification and misleading campaigns against other leaders.<\/p>\n
