Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has said employment creation is the way to make friends with his boss, President William Ruto.<\/p>\n

\u201cMany people ask me all the time, how I become a friend of President Ruto. My answer is very simple, just create five jobs,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Speaking on Thursday, he said the unemployment crisis in Kenya is a time bomb and any investor is a partner and friend.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhere jobs are being created President William Ruto and I will be there. Therefore any investor or entrepreneur that will create employment is a friend to our government,\u201d Gachagua said.<\/p>\n

The DP called on investors to partner with the government and make jobs available.<\/p>\n

“If you have a programme that will create an extra job, we will be available to you anytime.. job creation is a priority for our government,” he said.<\/p>\n

The Kenya Kwanza government has pledged to create employment for youths.<\/p>\n

Last month, President Ruto highlighted a number of ways the government will create jobs for youths.<\/p>\n

Ruto announced that he had invested heavily in the digital infrastructure by planning to construct an extra 100,000 kilometres of national fibre optic connectivity.<\/p>\n

The government also launched an initiative dubbed the Kenya Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship Accelerator Programme to create employment.<\/p>\n

Through K-YEEAP, one million youths will be employed next year.<\/p>\n

The government further plans to scale up cultural production and creative economy by appointing accomplished Kenyans artists and creative sector personalities as cultural ambassadors.<\/p>\n

The intervention will help create employment for youths in the creative industry.<\/p>\n

The government also seeks to push the passing of the Creative Economy Bill that will enable the establishment of a film fund.<\/p>\n

The Film Fund is expected to support the creative industry under a plan to add value to Kenya\u2019s exports.<\/p>\n
