Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Interior CS Kithure Kindiki has put bandits in the country on notice. Speaking in Nairobi on Friday, the CS said that the government is slowly pushing out bandits and their financiers to stabilise volatile regions.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am giving a warning to criminals in areas of the country that have witnessed deadly attacks. Your time is up and we are coming up for you. Bandits and terrorists,\u201d Kindiki said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn Kapedo, we are pushing out bandits and their financiers.”<\/p>\n

The CS said together with the Inspector General of police Japhet Koome and other top security officers they will help officers in security-prone areas to fight the enemy.<\/p>\n

In addition, Kindiki said the procurement of security weapons is almost complete and the ammunition will be available soon. He affirmed IG Koome\u2019s remarks that the weapons they have are to defend citizens, properties and themselves against criminals.<\/p>\n

The CS noted that the weapons are not a plaything but for protection. He spoke passionately to the public and state for remaining silent when a police officer is killed.<\/p>\n

\u201cTwo months ago we lost several officers and a chief in Turkana county and nobody talked about it like when an officer loses a weapon,\u201d Kindiki said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn a serious democracy even one officer killed by thugs is a reason to review how security should be handled.”<\/p>\n
