Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>A children’s home in Ruai benefitted from food and wheelchair donations from the police on Friday. The donations were from the International Police Association in partnership with the National Police Service.<\/p>\n

The Compassionate Hands for the Disabled Foundation in Ruai, Nairobi houses 104 children all of whom are differently disabled. The foundation’s executive director Anne Njeri applauded and appreciated the gesture by the team.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are touched by your actions and we appreciate,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

The delegation led by the IPA Kenya Section National secretary general, senior superintendent of police Jared Ojuok handed over five wheel chairs, 50kgs of green grams, 50kgs of yellow beans and 50kgs of rice.<\/p>\n

They also donated 50kgs of millet flour, five bales of maize flour, five bales of wheat flour, 40 litres of cooking oil and assorted toiletries. Ojuok promised to mobilise more help for the home and others.<\/p>\n

Compassionate Hands for the Disabled Foundation is a non-governmental organisation that was started in 2008 as an outreach Centre in Korogocho slum, in Kenya for children with disabilities.<\/p>\n

They are orphans and vulnerable children from extremely poor families abandoned or orphaned through HIV\/AIDS. The non-governmental organisation serves children with special needs that range from mental to physical disabilities, cerebral palsy and autism. It operates in Ruai, Nairobi, Kenya, near St Joseph Catholic Church.<\/p>\n
