Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has re-affirmed Kenya\u2019s commitment and readiness in partnering with leading global technology firms to bolster innovation.<\/p>\n

Mudavadi said through the partnerships, Kenya will be able to tap into economic growth opportunities in the fast-evolving digital space.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur partnership with global tech companies is aimed at nurturing the potential of our youth to unlock numerous opportunities online and on the digital radar. Our aim is to ensure the youth are equipped with skills that meet international standards on the digital space,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The partnership is in line with this years\u2019 Jamhuri Day theme “Technology and Innovation; connecting, innovating and inspiring”.<\/p>\n

The Prime CS insisted that investing in technology is the guiding principle for any country that is looking towards laying a strong foundation for its future generations.<\/p>\n

Mudavadi’s affirmation comes at the backdrop of the just concluded US-Africa Leaders\u2019 Summit in Washington D.C.<\/p>\n

The PCS was part of the Kenyan delegation that accompanied President Ruto.<\/p>\n

Mudavadi led the Kenyan delegation in a series of meetings on the sidelines of the summit, among them meeting representatives and founders of key U.S based technology firms.<\/p>\n

They include a meeting held with the Orion Applied Science and Technology founder and C.E.O. Alexander Alvin.<\/p>\n

The meeting explored possible areas of mutual collaboration and partnership between the Kenyan Government and Orion Company to aid in provision of Satellite based solutions to Agriculture, Natural Resources Management and the Security Sectors.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are committed towards this course. We exchanged very fundamental ideas on how to partner in order to see to it that the opportunities being provided digitally are fully explored in the various sectors that support livelihoods and our economy,\u201d Mudavadi said during a phone interview.<\/p>\n

“This is where we want to take Kenya through the Digital Plan and strategy of the Kenya Kwanza Government.”<\/p>\n

He added that as leaders, they need to do all they can to see to it that the opportunities being presented by the digital markets are first harnessed to meet the expectations of the youth in the job market.<\/p>\n

Orion is a U.S technology and service based company that provides engineering solutions including Near-Earth Space operations and Satellite launch capability development.<\/p>\n
