Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Shabana FC moved to the top of the Football Kenya Federation National Super League despite being held to a barren draw by visiting Vihiga United at Gusii Stadium on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Shabana leapfrogged Kibera Black Stars. The Glamour Boys are now on 10 points from four matches. Shabana coach Sammy Okoth was unhappy after his side lost their 100 per cent winning record in the league.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe took time to settle in the game, maybe because of fatigue. We played in Mombasa on Wednesday and arrived here on Thursday afternoon. Being on top of the log does not matter to me now because it\u2019s too early to look at the table,\u201d said Okoth.<\/p>\n

He also rued the chances his players wasted. \u201cWe failed to convert the chances we created. This must be rectified before the next game. We should not drop points at home if we are to realise our dream of returning to the Kenyan Premier League,\u201d added Okoth.<\/p>\n

His Vihiga counterpart, Mike Muruli, was delighted with the point. \u201cWe are facing a lot of challenges but despite that, we picked a crucial point away from home. We have only registered 12 players including three goalkeepers. Today, two goalkeepers played as outfield players,\u201d said the former defender.<\/p>\n

Kibera Black Stars will seek to reclaim their position on Monday when they take on on-form Trans Mara Sugar at Camp Toyoyo grounds. In other matches scheduled for Monday, Coastal Heroes will host Naivas FC at Mbaraki Sports Club as Migori Youth entertain SS Assad at Migori Stadium.<\/p>\n

At the same time, Gusii FC, Administration Police Service (APS) Bomet, Murang\u2019a Seal, Fortune Sacco, Daraja Gogo FC, and Kajiado FC formerly Dandora Love have been included in the NSL fixtures after the constitutional court set aside the decision by the Sports Disputes Tribunal to annul the 2021-2022 season.<\/p>\n

The six teams are expected to play their first games of the season on Wednesday next week. Gusii FC will battle it out with Kisumu All Stars at Gusii Stadium as struggling Mombasa Elite tackle APS Bomet at Mbaraki Sports Club.<\/p>\n

Mully Children\u2019s Family (MCF) will be at home against Murang\u2019a Seals while Fortune Sacco will face off with Mwatate FC. Kajiado FC will play Darajani Gogo which was formerly known as Muhoroni Youth.<\/p>\n
