Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Robinson Fwaro, 14, a pupil who scored 431 marks in the 2022 KCPE exams wants to be a software engineer. The pupil from Christ the King Primary School in Kanduyi constituency in Bungoma county revealed his aspiration during an interview at his former school on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Fwaro said he is filled with joy and he did not expect to be the first student in Kenya. \u201cI expected to be among the top ten students in the country but this has come to me as a surprise,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The top pupil said he desires to join Alliance Boys High School. \u201cI have been yearning to join Alliance Boys High School to realise my dream of becoming a software engineer. I know that with my parents support I will make it,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The top student attributed his success to discipline and hard work in school and cooperation with teachers. Fwaro added that he received a lot of support from his parents. He is the firstborn in a family of two, his younger brother is four years.<\/p>\n

Fwaro said that he faced various challenges in his studies one of them being the short-term education calendar that gave them little time to read and revise for the national exams.<\/p>\n

\u201cDespite having the short school calendar we had no choice but to adjust fast and make it work,\u201d he said Fwaro\u2019s father David Fwaro Wekesa is a businessman in Bungoma town and a former MCA at the Bungoma county assembly.<\/p>\n

Wekesa expressed his excitement saying that his son’s success stems from years of discipline throughout his primary education. He said Fwaro has always desired to join a national school and pursue engineering courses at the university.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have never had hard times with my son as he is always self-driven in his school work and I had no doubt that he was going to score good results,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Wekesa lauded the school for its continuous support in ensuring that students get enough time to study. Night Karani, the mother said prayers and hard work were the recipes for his son’s success.<\/p>\n

Amos Nyongesa, the assistant director of the school said that they thank God for the good results despite the many hurdles they faced. He said one of their candidates died.<\/p>\n
