Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Brazil have kept their top spot in the FIFA ranking, while the 2022 world champions Argentina have been elevated to the second spot.<\/p>\n

Following the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, FIFA updated the ranking list on Thursday.<\/p>\n

World Cup’s record holders Brazil are still leading the ranking with 1840.77 points. Brazil were eliminated by Croatia in the quarterfinals in Qatar 2022.<\/p>\n

World champions Argentina now have 1838.38 points to climb to second place. Lionel-Messi led Argentina won the 2022 World Cup, beating former champions France 4-2 on penalties.<\/p>\n

This was Argentina’s first World Cup success since 1986.<\/p>\n

In the ranking, France, who were the 1998 and 2018 world champions, are third with 1823.39 points.<\/p>\n

Morocco, who had an inspirational run in Qatar 2022, are now 11th with 1672.35 points. The African team were previously 22nd in October.<\/p>\n

Morocco finished the World Cup in fourth place as Croatia beat the Atlas Lions 2-1 in the bronze medal match.<\/p>\n

Croatia are seventh with 1727.62 points. They were 12th in October’s ranking.<\/p>\n
