Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Azimio leader Raila Odinga on Sunday led the entire Jaramogi Odinga family in sharing Christmas goodies with residents at their Bondo home. The family of Kenya’s first Vice President marked the occasion by sharing bread with locals at a local church.<\/p>\n

Raila’s wife, Ida, and his brother Senator Oburu Oginga took part in the distributing the bread and wished Kenyans a Merry Christmas and a prosperous new year.<\/p>\n

Oburu, who spoke on behalf of the family, presented a monetary donation to St. Peters ACK Church in Nyamira, Bondo constituency, where they had attended the Christmas church service.<\/p>\n

Ida gave edibles to teenagers and children while Kisumu County Woman Representative, Ruth Odinga, gave out baking floor to women. Food was also cooked at Kang’o Kajaramogi Home (the late Jaramogi’s home) where locals and political friends were served.<\/p>\n

The family has a tradition of spending Christmas Day at home. The celebration often start with a prayer service at the local church. “I want to send greetings of Christmas and new year to all our people in Kenya and the people of the world. Christmas is a period of facilitation, joy and reflection,” Raila said.<\/p>\n

He thanked God for seeing them through to this year’s Christmas. “It’s time to give thanks to the Lord for having sailed with us through to this day. I’m happy that we gather here (in church),” he added.<\/p>\n

The Orange Party leader underscored that 2022 has been an economically tough year but expressed hope for 2023 which is one week away. Raila promised that he will step up his political activities next year, the same time that he said, he will make a big announcement.<\/p>\n

The family was joined by Siaya governor James Orengo, former Siaya Governor Cornel Rasanga, Bondo MP Gideon Ochanda and a host of members of the County Assembly (MCAs).<\/p>\n
