Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>The energy and petroleum regulatory Authority has put seven petrol stations on notice for selling export-bound motor fuels in the local market.<\/p>\n

The stations whose locations have been identified have been termed as non-compliant.<\/p>\n

According to a public notice from the Authority on December 30, 2022, the stations were monitored during the period of October- December this year.<\/p>\n

“From the tests, 1033(99.33 percent) were found to be compliant while tests from 7 sites turned out to be non-compliant,” the notice reads.<\/p>\n

A petrol station located in Kwale County, Kombani Junction was found selling super petrol adulterated with domestic kerosene.<\/p>\n

“Super petrol dispensing pumps re-opened after upgrading the product and paying taxes and penalties amounting Sh70,000,” the notice reads.<\/p>\n

In Tharaka Nithi, Gitongo location another petrol station was selling super petrol containing high sulphur content.<\/p>\n

As of October 1, 2022 to December 30 the super petrol pump was closed.<\/p>\n

“In Ngara, Nairobi a petrol station was offering for sale diesel adulterated with domestic kerosene and containing high sulphur content,” the notice reads.<\/p>\n

In Kitui county, EPRA flagged two petrol stations that were selling diesel meant for export.<\/p>\n

Another station had altered super petrol with kerosene.<\/p>\n

“Super Petrol dispensing pumps reopened after upgrading the product and paying the product and paying taxes and penalties amounting Sh150,000,” the notice reads.<\/p>\n

Two more stations were flagged in Kisumu(Kibos) and Meru(Giaki).<\/p>\n

The Meru station was selling super petrol contaminated with domestics kerosene, in Kisumu domestic kerosene had diluted marker.<\/p>\n
