Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>President William Ruto is on Sunday expected to attend interdenominational prayers in Nanyuki. Over 5,000 congregants are expected at the Stadium. Police say security has been beefed up ahead of the church service. Ruto has for the past two days been chairing a Cabinet retreat at the Fairmont Mt Kenya Safari Club in Nanyuki.<\/p>\n

The retreat comprised of Cabinet Secretaries, Principal Secretaries and other senior government officials with an agenda of discussing Kenya Kwanza’s administration to consolidate the government\u2019s plan for the turnaround of the economy with a focus on agriculture, value addition and manufacturing.<\/p>\n

“When we work together, we will protect the interests of the people, deliver on our pledges and move the country to prosperity,” he said. On Saturday, the president met with the leadership of the council of governors, to discuss areas of collaboration between the levels of government.<\/p>\n

Health is among the functions shared between the two levels and the president has promised to ensure the bottlenecks hampering effective service delivery are addressed.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe health sector is one that needs change. The universal health coverage (UHC) plan cannot wait… I had to delay my health plan so that I can sort out issues at the NHIF first,\u201d said Ruto during a media interview on Wednesday. He also held a separate meeting with the leadership from the Senate and National Assembly.<\/p>\n
