Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi has weighed in on the recent revelations about the chaos that took place in Bomas during the August polls. Ahmednasir was responding to Narok Senator Ledama Olekina who supported the formation of a commission to look into the incidents that happened in Bomas during the announcement of the August 2022 presidential polls.<\/p>\n

He said if the rule of law was applied, Ledama who was part of the individuals at the centre of the fracas at Bomas would have been arrested. Ledama was among a group of politicians allied to Azimio presidential candidate Raila Odinga who tried to prevent IEBC chairperson Wafula Chebukati from announcing the results on grounds that they were rigged.<\/p>\n

“If the rule of Law applied in Kenya, that rungu you applied with devastating consequences at Bomas should have landed you a 7-year term in prison.<\/p>\n

“But Senator you are a lucky dude, this is Kenya where the rule of Law has taken leave of absence,” Ahmednasir tweeted.<\/p>\n

The actions in Bomas were thwarted by police and politicians allied to Ruto who was eventually declared the winner. In a video that was doing rounds on social media, Ledama was seen approaching Chebukati as he sat down.<\/p>\n

A confrontation ensued before the whole episode spiralled into shoving, kicking and fist fights. At some point, Ledama is seen struggling to get past a group of people on his way to an exit at the back of the auditorium.<\/p>\n
