Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>A security guard who was allegedly assaulted by former Tetu MP James Ndung\u2019u Gethenji has distanced himself from the war between the directors of Kihingo Village Properties.<\/p>\n

Appearing before Milimani Magistrate Muthoni Nzibe on Wednesday, Godfrey Kirimi Mutua said he was hit on the head with a pistol by Gethenji on February 5, 2021, while on his normal duties.<\/p>\n

Mutua said he worked with the FAPCL group that deployed him to work at Kitsuru Estate working as a security officer based at Kihingo village Kitsuru westlands subcounty.<\/p>\n

He said that on the day of the incident, the former MP came holding a gun at hand saying, “I should know people, When I asked him why he was holding a gun today and we normally open for you, \u201csaid the witness in court.<\/p>\n

He was testifying in a case where Gethenji is charged that on February 5, 2021, at Kihingo village he assaulted Godfrey Kirimi Mutua thereby occasioning him actual bodily harm.<\/p>\n

Mutua said that after he asked Getheni that question, he came out of his car and started assaulting him together with his bodyguards and they were also shouting.<\/p>\n

\u201cGethenji hit me on the face with a pistol as the bodyguard cocked his gun and Ndung\u2019u hit me shouting that I should know people,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

He testified that after the commotion the police officers together with other guards came in and Gethenji shouted that security guards should know people as he entered his house.<\/p>\n

Mutua said he supervised Securex security guards who manage Kihingo security and during the incident, he was acting on the order from the management to check on all the vehicles.<\/p>\n

He said that he reported the matter to his bosses who advised him to report to the Gigiri police station. \u201cI later went to MP Shah Hospital for treatment,” Mutua said. Lawyer Willis Otieno, Mutua pointed at Gethenji as the person who assaulted him.<\/p>\n

When he was asked whether he knew that there were differences between directors, he told the court that they were employed by the directors but by then he didn’t know that there was war and division among the directors.<\/p>\n

About him communicating and receiving money from some of the directors who are at war over the ownership of the company, Mutua told the court he only talks to some of the directors on job-related issues and nothing more.<\/p>\n

CCTV footage of the case will be played in court at a later time. He said that he has never had a difference with the accused person. Mutua also identified the firearm that was used to hit him. The firearm that was used was also produced in court. The case is set to resume on May 4, 2023.<\/p>\n
