Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has revealed that he has assigned MPs Kimani Ichung’wa and Ndindi Nyoro the mandate of leading the onslaught against Azimio.<\/p>\n

Gachagua, who has been leading the charge against Azimio boss Raila Odinga’s political attacks, said he will now focus on working for Kenyans.<\/p>\n

The DP’s declaration came after several politicians in the Kenya Kwanza administration urged him to delegate the duty of responding to Raila to junior lawmakers.<\/p>\n

On Sunday, Gachagua while addressing a thanksgiving church service in Narok said Ichung’wa(Kikuyu) and Nyoro( Kiharu) will suffice to tackle the opposition chief.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have accepted that from now going forward, the duty to deal with that Mzee (Raila) will be done by Ichung’wa and Nyoro as I will now focus on helping the president to serve Kenyans,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The DP lauded Ichung’wa and Nyoro for successfully managing to lead Kenya Kwanza’s verbal offensive against Raila during the campaigns.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou were in our group that managed to silence that Mzee (Raila). Under the chairmanship of Ichung’wa, revive the team and start dealing with him perfectly,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cCheckmate him closely so that the President, Musalia Mudavadi the cabinet secretaries and I can focus on development.\u201d<\/p>\n

Earlier Ichung’wa who is also the National Assembly Majority Leader asked the President and the DP to ignore Raila’s attacks and focus on working for Kenyans.<\/p>\n

“Your Excellency the Deputy President please leave that man to me and Nyoro so that we deal with him, you and the President please focus on the Kenya Kwanza Plan,” Ichung’wa said.<\/p>\n

Ichung’wa and Nyoro were the faces of the Kenya Kwanza attacks on Raila during the campaigns as they complemented Ruto and Gachagua in firing up the presidential run to State House.<\/p>\n
