Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Politician Justina Wamae has termed it petty, that ODM legislators have given the government an ultimatum over the release of Korogocho MCA Absalom Odhiambo.<\/p>\n

The MCAs had given the government a 12-hour ultimate to have Odhiambo released. Wamae said such leaders should not claim to fight for the democracy of Kenya.<\/p>\n

“Giving the government 12 hours to release an MCA is downright pietism yet you claim that you are fighting for democracy of this country,” she said.<\/p>\n

The former Roots party running mate said it was also proof that Kenyan politics is never about the people but the interests of individuals. “Watu wambiane ukweli, politics across the divide is self-centred and is not people-centric,” she said.<\/p>\n

The Azimio MCAs led by majority leader Peter Imwatok, the MCAs on Monday condemned the recent arrest of the ward rep. \u201cDictatorship is back, the Moi era is back. We want Absalom released unconditionally within 12 hours,\u201d Imwatok said.<\/p>\n

They challenged the Kenya Kwanza government to arrest their leader Raila Odinga because they follow his orders. \u201cI want to challenge the entire government, you know who is supposed to be arrested. Kindly arrest Raila Amollo Odinga. That is the man who tells us to go right and we go.\u201d<\/p>\n

Before noon, Odhiambo popularly known as Mattach was picked by the DCI sleuths at the National Cohesion and Integration Commission offices where he had been summoned over alleged incitement remarks.<\/p>\n

He was accompanied by his lawyer Apollo Mboya and Imwatok at the time of the arrest. His arrest follows a viral video captured at the Kamukunji rally where he uttered unprintable words criticising the Kenya Kwanza government amid a stirred-up crowd of Azimio supporters.<\/p>\n

He was thus summoned by the Reverend Samuel Kobia-led commission which stated that such comments created unnecessary tension that if not well managed could plunge the country into chaos.<\/p>\n
