Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i has asked learning institutions to immortalise the late George Magoha’s contribution to society. Speaking at Magoha’s Lavington home, Matiangi said many citizens who admired his life and had an opportunity to interact with him can attest he was the best of our country<\/p>\n

“Either one university in the country will create a chair and name it after Magoha, or name a research program after him, establish a scholarship to help others,” he said.<\/p>\n

Matiang’i also said that no one will ever fit in Magoha’s shoes as he was the best colleague and citizen. He accompanied retired President Uhuru Kenyatta and fellow former Cabinet Secretaries to visit the family of Magoha.<\/p>\n

Former Interior PS Karanja Kibicho, CSs Eugene Wamalwa, and Margaret Kobia were also present. Magoha died on January 24 at the age of 71 after a long and illustrious career in medicine, academia and public service. He collapsed at home and was rushed to Nairobi Hospital, where he was pronounced dead after efforts to resuscitate him failed.<\/p>\n
