The MCAs want Minority Leader Antony Waithaka and Minority Whip Mark Mugambi to resign from their position for allegedly undermining, blackmailing and falsely accusing Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja.<\/p>\n

Addressing the media on Wednesday, the MCAs led by Kahawa West MCA Clement Kamaru said they have written to the party for disciplinary action to be taken.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a matter of great concern and we cannot allow people to malign the name of our Governor,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

In a letter addressed to Secretary General Veronica Maina, the MCAs want disciplinary actions taken against the two in order to mitigate the future occurrence of such grave and false allegations towards the governor.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe feel that the action by our two leaders amount to gross violation of the UDA code of conduct which states that all members shall subscribe to the party\u2019s values and principles,\u201d reads the letter dates January 30, 2023.<\/p>\n

The two leaders, Kiragu and Mugambi accused the Governor of being biased against his own Party, UDA. The UDA leadership claimed that Sakaja was forcing a handshake between Opposition leader Raila Odinga and President William Ruto.<\/p>\n

They even accused Sakaja of financing Raila\u2019s Kamukunji meeting last week claiming they were in possession of the evidence. However, according to Sakaja allied MCAs, they gave their two leaders 24 hours to submit evidence on their allegations against the Governor but they haven’t.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe added them more time but they have not brought anything forward. We took the initiative to write to the party and we are looking forward to disciplinary action being taken,\u201d Kamaru added.<\/p>\n

Kayole Central MCA Jeremiah Themendu told off their counterparts for going against President William Ruto\u2019s efforts of bringing unity to the country. He explained that the two leaders wanted to bring back power fights in Nairobi county which destroyed the last assembly.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are all UDA members but it was unfortunate that our party members attacked the governor who is still setting up his office. Instead of supporting the governor we are instead fighting him yet he is only six months into office,\u201d Themendu added.<\/p>\n

Ruai MCA James Kariuki urged his counterparts to cease politicking and get to start implementing their manifesto as well support Sakaja. \u201cWe are not playing politics now. Wakati wa vipindi is gone.Why would you attack your governor without proof?” He posed. Despite the MCAs division, Governor Sakaja has not responded to any of the accusations nor given his view on the issue.<\/p>\n
