Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Youth Affairs, Sports and the Arts CS Ababu Namwamba on Wednesday met Kenyan actors on Netflix led by Catherine Kamau, alias Kate Actress. Kenyan movies on Netflix include Disconnect, Country Queen, Nairobi Half-life, Uradi, Morning After, 40 Sticks and Super Modo among others.<\/p>\n

The agenda of the meeting was for the team to share their experience and insights on conquering the international film space. “Let us stick to Kenyanicity in the way we tell our stories. This is the only way we can be able to curve out our niche in this hugely competitive world creatives arena,” he said.<\/p>\n

Ababu commended the team for continuously using the space to market the country internationally . “The government will support artistes to fully realise Kenya’s creatives’ potential,” he said.<\/p>\n

Ababu also said his ministry is developing key policies to help in management of the creative space. “These include a rebate framework for all investments in the creative arts space as well as a royalty management system to help in management of the royalties for our artists, ” he said.<\/p>\n

“Our goal is to ensure that we actualize the government’s Bottom-up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), which has earmarked the creative industry as a core pillar in economic transformation.”<\/p>\n
