Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Education CS Ezekiel Machogu has today met the 49-member Presidential Working Party on Education Reforms.<\/p>\n

Machogu asked the team to help the government effectively meet educational aspirations.<\/p>\n

The meeting at CEMASTEA Kenya in Karen brings together different stakeholders including Higher Education PS Beatrice Inyangala and Early learning and Basic Education PS Belio Kipsang.<\/p>\n

The task force is expected to give the second interim report for the university education sector.<\/p>\n

On Friday, the President gazetted Raphael Munavu to chair the team whose secretaries will be Knec CEO David Njengere, Patita Tingoi, Jackson Too and Richard Miano.<\/p>\n

In the university sector, Ruto directed that the task force recommends criteria to implement an open university in Kenya.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo recommend a framework of operationalising the National Open University of Kenya and a framework on Open, Distance and E-line learning (ODEL),\u201d the notice reads.<\/p>\n

\u201cInvite and consider views from sector stakeholders and members of the public, hold such number of meetings and raise additional funding,\u201d the notice reads.<\/p>\n

The plan to have an open university was among Ruto\u2019s key pledges during the campaign.<\/p>\n

The task force includes vice chancellors, agency heads and constitutes vice-chancellors, principals and other education stakeholders.<\/p>\n
