Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Former UDA vice chairman Kipruto Kirwa has said Azimio leader Raila Odinga has had the most impact in the country politically. Speaking in an interview on Tuesday, he said the role Raila has played since he entered politics, cannot be overstated.<\/p>\n

“If it was not for Raila, we would not be sure that most of the changes that took place would have taken, he has sacrificed. It may be for himself or any other person but overall, this country has benefited from that,” he said.<\/p>\n

Kirwa further said that African countries are always at risk of turning into dictatorships and therefore it’s important to fight for democracy. “Democracy is under assault all the time especially in Africa because we don’t seem to conform with any standard of democracy,” Kirwa said. He also urged people to fight for democracy since African leaders have a tendency of overstaying their invitations much longer than they should.<\/p>\n
