Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Jubilee Party has said its National Executive Committee will from Friday begin exiting Raila Odinga’s Azimio La Umoja Coalition. Through a statement, the Jubilee party also wants to be recognised as a Parliamentary party with all rights and benefits.<\/p>\n

“We want to be recognised as a party with all benefits accruing thereto taking into account that Jubilee Party is the third largest party in Parliament,” the statement read.<\/p>\n

Jubilee party also wants its NEC to engage with President William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza on the possibility of creating a working cooperation with it. During the meeting, Jeremiah Kioni was also suspended as the Secretary-General, with EALA MP Kanini Kega taking over.<\/p>\n

Also suspended are Treasurer Kagwe Gichohi and vice chairman David Murathe. Rachel Nyamai is the new acting Jubilee Treasurer while Adan Keynan is the acting National Vice Chairman.<\/p>\n

On Thursday, Sirisia MP John Waluke said that Jubilee MPs will not take part in the Azimio ‘anti-Ruto’ rallies terming them unnecessary. Waluke\u2019s announcement comes after a closed-door meeting with Ruto and his Deputy Rigathi Gachagua. The meeting was attended by 30 Jubilee MPs.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were sent to Parliament by our people to represent and fight for their interests that is why we have withdrawn from the Azimio rallies,\u201d Waluke said. Waluke said that currently the country has a lot of challenges and needs the elected leaders to work with the state for the benefit of the people.<\/p>\n
