Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Former Mukurweini MP Kabando wa Kabando has welcomed former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s declaration of support for Azimio La Umoja Coalition.<\/p>\n

According to Wa Kabando, Uhuru’s declaration was the best news since August 2022.<\/p>\n

“Uhuru’s declaration that he’ll be active in Azimio is the best news post2022 elections,” he said on Saturday.<\/p>\n

The legislator also highlighted that strong opposition is very necessary in a nascent democracy.<\/p>\n

He further noted that the Raila-Uhuru oversight of the Kenya Kwanza Government was good for the country.<\/p>\n

“Kenya will be much better with an organised strong official opposition. Raila-Uhuru’s oversight on UDA is potent! Good for Kenya!” Kabando added.<\/p>\n

Former president Uhuru Kenyatta on Saturday confirmed his stand in Azimio La Umoja Coalition.<\/p>\n

He affirmed that he is still a member of the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party, despite his silence.<\/p>\n

“Kustahafu sio kuchoka… ata wengine wanastahafu na nguvu zinaingozeka.Ata kama nimewacha siasa active, mimi bado ni mfuasi wa babaAkiniambia twende lazima twendwe ,”Uhuru said.<\/p>\n

This translates to: “Retirement doesn’t mean I’m tired. Others retire and increase their political strength,”<\/p>\n

“Even though I have retired from politics, I’m still a follower of Raila. If he asks me we go we have to do it. I supported him and I will continue doing so because I believe he is truthful,” Uhuru said.<\/p>\n

The Retired head of state further affirmed his support for Opposition chief Raila Odinga and insisted that he will support him.<\/p>\n

He explained that his support for Raila was because he had good intentions for Kenyans and whatever he says he will follow and support him.<\/p>\n
