AfricaPress-Kenya:<\/strong> The Wiper Democratic Party diaspora branch (Wiper-UK) has thrown its weight behind the off-the scene discussions by key political players towards a government of national unity.<\/p>\n

This comes after news that the Wiper\u2019s National Executive Council recently gave a unanimous node to its party leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka to engage with President Uhuru\u2019s Kenyatta\u2019s Jubilee Party in talks aimed at uniting the country.<\/p><\/div>\n

\u00a0A similar pact was signed between KANU and Jubilee Party a few weeks ago. Reacting to the news, the Wiper-UK Secretary General Thomas Musau applauded the move comparing it to the historical handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga two years ago that brought to an end the vitriolic attacks between the rivals.<\/div>\n
\nMr Musau said government of National Unity is the way to go if it will help to bring peace and prosperity into our country.He said no one wants to see their country ravaged by ethnic rivalry, loss of lives and wanton destruction of properties commonly associated with Kenyan elections.<\/p>\n

Any development towards this end is a welcome move,” the Secretary General said.<\/p><\/div>\n

Confirming the new development, Wiper Vice Chair and Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Junior said the pact and collaboration was necessary for the future of Wiper.<\/div>\n
