Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has said that he will be the first one to defend former interior CS Fred Matiang’i in the event that he arrested and prosecuted.<\/p>\n

Speaking on Friday during Azimio’s anti-government rally in Kisii, Kalonzo said that he rarely goes to court but for the sake of the former CS, he will be present.<\/p>\n

“I’m a lawyer but I rarely go to court having been vice president but one case that I will go to defend is when they arrest Matiang’i. I will be the first one to defend Matiang’i,” Kalonzo said.<\/p>\n

The Wiper leader described the circumstances surrounding the alleged raid at Matiang’i’s Karen home as propaganda. Azimio leaders have come out to defend the former CS saying that he has their full support.<\/p>\n

This comes after police his home on Wednesday ostensibly to look for the CCTV footage to establish whether a raid indeed took place at the home on February 8.<\/p>\n

The raid was done shortly after DCI boss Mohamed Amin said they obtained a search order to look for the CCTV recording at the home. Raila on Friday said that he is ready to take a bullet for ex-interior CS.<\/p>\n

The ODM leader defended the former cabinet secretary, saying he is ready to fight for him. \u201cI have told Matiang’i to stand firm. I will die for him. We don’t want them (Kenya Kwanza) to return the country to autocracy,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Speaking during Friday’s rally, former Defence CS Eugene Wamalwa urged Kisii residents to stand with Matiang’i. Wamalwa claimed that President William Ruto is on a revenge mission because Matiang’i allegedly took his job in the final phase of Jubilee government’s tenure. Wamalwa added that he knows the Kenya Kwanza administration will be coming for them. He, however, said that they will not be intimidated.<\/p>\n
