Africa-Press – Kenya. <\/strong><\/span>Public Service and Gender Cabinet Secretary Aisha Jumwa has come to the defence of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua over his remarks that Kenya is a company with shareholders.<\/p>\n

The CS said regardless of the context in which the DP made the remarks, it still stands true even in the scriptures that people must reap where they sowed.<\/p>\n

Jumwa was speaking in an interview with Citizen TV.<\/p>\n

“Galatians 6:7-8 says you cannot mock God, whatever you sow is what you will reap. That’s not from Rigathi or from me, it’s what the Bible says,” she said.<\/p>\n

On Saturday last week, Gachagua sparked outrage among Kenyans after he said the government is like a company in which Kenyans had a stake depending on how they voted.<\/p>\n

He said those known to have voted for the Kenya Kwanza regime will benefit first from their investment while those who voted otherwise will have to contend with leftovers.<\/p>\n

“This government is a company. There are those who own it, those with many shares, those with fewer shares and those without,” he said.<\/p>\n

“Najua wengine wananikashifu ati mimi nasema ati wale walipanda wavune kwanza, iko makosa? the DP posed.<\/p>\n

(There are those criticising me for saying those who planted should reap first, is there a problem with that?)<\/p>\n

“Hata hao watavuna lakini wangoje. Wale walipanda wavune kwanza, wakishavuna ile itabaki kidogo wale hawakupanda waingie watafute huko ile itapatikana wachukue,” he added.<\/p>\n

(Even those who didn’t plant will reap after those who sowed first have done so. Whatever little they get will be theirs)<\/p>\n

The DP was speaking in Kericho county during a distribution exercise of subsidised fertiliser.<\/p>\n

But while speaking on Wednesday during the launch of the Nairobi River Commission in Korogocho, Nairobi, Gachagua said the government will serve all Kenyans equally.<\/p>\n

\u201cKenya belongs to all of us. Ruto\u2019s government will serve everyone irrespective of how they voted. The president will handle developmental matters while I will deal with streamlining the UDA party affairs,\u201d Gachagua said.<\/p>\n
